The Beautiful Ability to Choose Happy

It’s kind of impossible to fathom that this weekend is Memorial Day. Months of pandumbic following a pretty icky winter melded together and stole the presence of seasons flowing from winter, to spring and now summer. As we continue to experience a global trauma in unison, I am often pulling myself out of my own head to look at bigger picture problems. While I certainly … Continue reading The Beautiful Ability to Choose Happy

Cannon Beach to Pacific City

Two nights ago, I thought I had found the ultimate landing spot. I had read about the beauty of Cannon Beach, and decided to see it for myself. Upon arrival to town, I discovered a sweet residential street to pull over and park by one of the beach’s side entrances. As I walked over the dune, I gasped at the beauty of this incredible spot. … Continue reading Cannon Beach to Pacific City

Which way do I go?

After spending five weeks with friends in Port Angeles, it’s time to shove off and on to the next spot. Currently, I’m in eastern Oregon looking at maps, thinking about quarantine orders and trying to decide where to turn. I was hoping to go to Minneapolis to see my kiddo, but sadly, extenuating circumstances continue to loom. I miss him, and want to get there … Continue reading Which way do I go?

New Recipe: Tofrisket, Vegan Alternative to my Signature Brisket Dish

Greetings! Let me share a dish with you that I just made last month for quarantine social distant Passover. Being that I love to cook and usually host a big gathering on the holiday, I had to figure out something I could make that was affordable, delicious and tastes like the holiday. The socially distant group I dined with were vegetarians, so I really had … Continue reading New Recipe: Tofrisket, Vegan Alternative to my Signature Brisket Dish

So many stars!

When I got the van last spring, I envisioned so many nights like this. I am currently camping at Grand Basin National Park in Nevada. It’s my first night camped out in nature in a long, long time. This morning, I woke up in Fruita, Colorado, where I’d been camping out for five days. In an effort to make sure I was ready for travel, I decided to stay in CO state until I knew I had a clean bill of health. Continue reading So many stars!

Something Old, Something New

I immediately recognized the tiara, it was mine. As was the veil. For almost twenty years, I’ve hung onto them along with my wedding dress. My fabulous Holly Harp dress sold for $38 this summer at Rebel Supply Co. in Asbury Park, NJ. I”ve unloadeda. lot fo stuff the past few years, the major dump in 2017 when I moved to CO, and then the epic latest purge this past spring when I was preparing to take off in the Mystery Machine. Carbonated Bubbles in my Brain

As my journey continues north along the coast of Maine, it is clear that the dichotomy of things happening in my life open up a host of storylines in each day. I’m not just on the road driving, there is a whole life happening far far away that is tethered to me. My journey is not free from distraction, or life’s complications. This trip was … Continue reading Carbonated Bubbles in my Brain

Step Back, the Universe Will Spell it Out

The northern east coast is rocky, rough, curvy and unpredictable. Some beaches are rock formations and some have sand littered with bits of brown seaweed. The smell of the ocean is saltier up north, and there is a consistent fishy smell I can’t quite place but keep experiencing as we travel north. Scoob had a good run this morning without a leash on a deserted … Continue reading Step Back, the Universe Will Spell it Out
